(4/4) Feedback on "Warship"

• In order to not make the track repetitive, you can pause the melody loop and add something else, like a bass line. Our Wubmachine has a lot of interesting sounds that could work well with the beat loop.

• Try to solo just the beat and loop it to find a bass line that work together with your loop. Don’t be afraid to put some time into it.

• Keep on producing and have fun!

You post it in this group just like you would for any other group @aikue, although the thing is if you're not in the group you can't do that, maybe just pm i awake a link to your song or ask him if you can be in the group because no one is able to join by clicking on the join symbol at the moment

The Dot is a hypnotic song.

Oh lol, well I like some of the suggestions so I guess I'll have to do the song over again, although seeing how you low key roasted probably my objective best solo song, it makes me feel like I won't impress you with my changes even if they're technically in line with what you suggested, one thing I'm definitely not changing is the beat I made at 1:05 because I made it that way intentionally, but most of these changes I will make because you're right, this track is a little repetitive and incomplete feeling, and actually funnily enough I started to add chords on my own to this song so yeah ;p

This week's review goes to "Phases" - a bass-driven and minimal piece of work by Katze that could be built into a beast of a track. See below how you can expand your ideas from your bass further!

(1/4) Feedback on "Phases"

• First of all, I’d like to recommend you to work on the bass line since it’s the focus of your track. To make it more ”alive”, see what’s possible with sidechaining (or our Fakie) on the whole bass figure. Or you can also work on adding sth different to every round in order to not be repetitive.

• The percussive snap is great. I’d choose to introduce the next beat component already at 0.6. There I’d work on a hi-hat shuffle as well.

(2/4) Feedback on "Phases"

• The rounds work nice (though the bass line could be less repetitive) and it follows the musical structure well, but instead of keeping the track on low fumes I’d start up the track properly at 0.40.

• For example, add a new bass line, altered beat components as well as a melody would be nice. Never underestimate the power of melodies. They're often the most memorable part of any songs.
