How to collaborate in Soundation

Soundation lets you produce music in multiplayer mode with anyone in the same project. Every move you make is 100% synced in real-time.

Invite collaborators

  1. 1
Open Soundation and create or open a project
  2. 2
Click Collaborate in the top right corner or the Collaborate tab in the side panel
  3. 3
Enter your collaborator's email address or username and click Send
  4. 4
Your collaborator will receive an email invitation

You can also copy the project link and share it with your collaborators. Only the owner of the project can invite but all collaborators can share the link.

When someone clicks the link, they can request access. When they do, the owner will receive an email and a notifictaion within the project which can be accepted or declined in the Collaborate tab.

Collaborate settings

The collaborate tab also has some options that you can enable. These settings are unchecked by default to make sure your project is secure and private unless you decide otherwise.

  • Enable collaborators to download track lets anyone in the project export the track as a mp3 or wav file
  • Enable collaborators to publish track lets anyone in the project publish the track on their Soundation profile
  • Post project to community to find collaborators automatically shares your project on the Collab live channel on Soundation's official Discord server
  • Auto accept all requests allows anyone who clicks on the project link to join the project without needing to request access

When your collaborators are online, you can see their avatars show up in the upper-right corner. You might also see their cursors and usernames in the Arrangement area. The collaborators’ cursors can be turned off right next to their avatars. If you want to kick out a collaborator, you simply click on the X next to their username in the Collaborate tab.
