@Quixotic many people use after effects. Not only is that slower and extremely expensive but it needs a beefy computer to make. Instead, i use a website called musicvid. org. Its coded in JS so it's really lightweight to preview. It has a desktop client so you can export faster.
I think downloads must be factored into the trending page algorithm because otherwise I would think that my song would still be in second place because it has more plays. Then again, maybe the less plays a song with a lot of likes has, the better, because your like to play ratio is higher. Hmmph
