Because the first child is the test child, where rules are still tight and strict, then any following children the rules loosen and become more lenient, or something like that.

I also wasn't aloud to watch madagascar. But now my siblings who are the same age i was when i wasn't aloud to watch that stuff, can watch MCU movies. And i'm like "why couldn't i watch sponge bob?" lol

That's alright. A trombone player from my high school who was from Louisiana didn't watch much TV (he spent his time wrestling gators apparently), and many teachers really wished they could sit him down and share media culture with him whenever he didn't understand what they were talking about when the teachers mention something ranging from Spongebob, Star Wars, and Loony Tunes, for examples.
