Christmas is finally over!
Thank you for all your submissions! Excuse the delayed announcement. Unfortunately, there were a lot of songs that weren’t made using Soundation or couldn’t be verified so some of the runner-ups were disqualified.
Congratulations to the winners, expect a magic upgrade and a DM.

Hyphen was a bit OP in this contest, he’s had his share of features and it’s surprising he’s still squeezing things out on a free account. It’s time bro. Very smooth production and a nice play on the jingle bells melody.
Hard trap beat with some Xmas elements in it, the mix is a bit off and it could need some more dynamics and switch-ups, but all in all, well played.
Very well-arranged and full-bodied production. It would have landed second place if it had some Christmas in it. Mix tip: tune your compression wisely, dial it back a little bit and don’t go ham on it all the way through – the end result will sound a lot more professional.

Any-who. Good luck everyone who is participating. I'll just wait for the next one to come around. Or maybe they'll do another remix comp idk. Whatever happens, I hope it's good.

Mostly I'm just annoyed that they made the perfect contest for people who unironically use loops/splice samples on this site all the time, and ironically it will probably not be one of them that wins because most of them aren't usually that creative with it.
Katze
I thought of doing that with it, but to me it's not a loop when you do that, although if they allow me to do that instead of actually using the loops I'll actually do it for my second submission.

Sometimes when I work with a loop, I try to recreate it's melody by ear, an then now I have it on a midi and can change the instrumentation or notes however I want.

I mean they said cut it up and stuff. But I don't really want to spend my time on cutting loops when I could be making something original. And Arbor I do that too. I cut up any drum loops that have the right sounds that I'm looking for in whatever track I'm making.

I don't like them much either, I had another idea for a song but it didn't work out because when you're using loops you need to come up with a plan of how to use them efficiently and creatively with the noteclips you're making, I had this splice loop that I was trying to get to sound exactly the same but like slightly higher pitched and the rhythm was just too out of whack for it to work. Also the submission I put in has flaws to but that's because I decided "I wonder if I can make crap and the soundation team would think it's not crap..."
