Excellent beginning! Having the steady percussion choice at the beginning ties the sounds together. Very smooth transition at 10 seconds. The space age laser sort of sound and the synth sound fit well together. Even though the song changes at 40 seconds, it still fits within the genre of the rest of the song. The sample at 1:24 sounds a bit out of place, maybe there is a sample you can put over that from the start fo your song that will tie it together.
