Well, try to listen to bass-heavy songs and play around with your subs so you can get a gist of what octave a sub should be in. ;D

usually i do one sine bass at c2 and another on c3...

Depends. Mono basses sound better at c3 while sine basses do at around c2, and with the wub machine bass it doesn't matter wich octave you take. This bass is too low tho

there's lots of mid and low, and a good amount of high end. there is something a little weird with the bass i will admit. its on c2, which i thought was normal for 808s.

Cool. When I found out about liquid drum n' bass today, it completely reminded me of this song, which is in that genre. Although the bass is in the same key, it does sound a little wonky. Maybe it's in too *cough* low of an octave? If it's not a sine wave bass, then that might work better? idk but mixing sounds great to me, maybe more high end :3
