they're actually not. the bass is just too low and weirdly distorted and therefore sounds like the wrong notes.

right. in fl i think you have to make the basses on c3 rather than c2

Just because the bass is in key doesn't mean it automatically matches up with the rest of the song.

even if you go to the dollar tree and get some cheap "bass-boosting" earphones that could help even if just a lil bit :P
