Christmas contest

Christmas is finally over!

Thank you for all your submissions! Excuse the delayed announcement. Unfortunately, there were a lot of songs that weren’t made using Soundation or couldn’t be verified so some of the runner-ups were disqualified.

Congratulations to the winners, expect a magic upgrade and a DM.

Winners

1st place

Hyphen was a bit OP in this contest, he’s had his share of features and it’s surprising he’s still squeezing things out on a free account. It’s time bro. Very smooth production and a nice play on the jingle bells melody.

2nd place

Hard trap beat with some Xmas elements in it, the mix is a bit off and it could need some more dynamics and switch-ups, but all in all, well played.

3rd place

Very well-arranged and full-bodied production. It would have landed second place if it had some Christmas in it. Mix tip: tune your compression wisely, dial it back a little bit and don’t go ham on it all the way through – the end result will sound a lot more professional.

Thanks Moon for putting this together!

Usually when you have a track built and stuff, you would use the master channel to make sure the track as a whole is nice and clean and polished. I suggest putting a para eq on the master channel too (though you don't necessarily have to make changes to it) so that you can view the analyzer of the whole track. You can also use it for when you want to add a little more pizzazz, say having the whole song fade in/out, or any other tricks with effects you can devise.

@Croissant

If you go to view and enable show master channel (or use keyboard shortcut by pressing 0) then the master channel becomes visible if you scroll to the bottom. It appears as red in the 1.0 studio, in the 2.0 studio it has a double arrow icon in it's corner. What it does is that any effects or automation you give it applies to the entire track. It is generally recommended to at the very least to give the master channel a limiter (and also preferably leave threshold at 100%) as a precaution so it prevents any audio from clipping if the track were to get rather loud.

Usually I let grammatical errors slide because comment section discussions are colloquial in nature, and thus needn't be the utmost grammatically pristine.

I have however criticized arguments and pointed out flaws, fallacies, logic, and loopholes in that regard, especially during the events of a year ago and following.

I feel like you're the first person on this site to ever mention run-on sentences.

@arbor and I said it already too, man I feel like my essay wasn't that appreciated xD but then again I'm not as good at it because I tend to write run on sentences and not make as much sense as I could ;/
