Welcome, everybody, to the third Summer Dance contest, the only contest on Soundation to find the best artist of the so called subgenre ‘Summer Dance’. To keep it simple, I’m going to allow the same 4 genres as last year, plus two: Summer Dance, Deep House, Progressive House, Future House, Indie/Melodic House and Tropical House. If you are confused by these genres here are some examples:

Why Summer Dance?
Now that spring has arrived, the weather is starting to get better and soon when summer arrives the weather will be brilliant. So why not prepare for summer with the ultimate Summer Dance track?

You have until 29th May to create your best Summer Dance track. I will pick my five favourite tracks. I will then give you guys three weeks (19th June) to vote for your favourite track. Then there will only be three remaining tracks (until next year), first, second and third place.
Rules:
1. Criticism is allowed, but no putting anybody down, no matter what!
2. Swearing is not banned, but please don’t overdo it.
3. If you want to post a WIP, please delete it once you have posted the full track.
4. Please only post ONE track. If you decide to post more than one track none of them will be judged.
5. Creating your own MIDI notes is recommended. You can use samples, but leaving them unedited gives you less of a chance to win. You can use any studio.
6. Tracks can be any length, but the recommended length is between 2 minutes and 5 minutes.
7. Tracks have to be posted via Soundation, ‘click the link’ tracks won’t be able to win, no matter how good they are.
Prizes:
1st Place – 3 soundpacks* of your choice, collab if wanted, shoutout on social media and bragging rights.
2nd Place – 1 soundpack* of your choice, collab if wanted, shoutout on social media and bragging rights.

@elizalde the thing is that when people just drag and drop with one audio channel and do absolutely no changes at all and claiming it as their own which takes 5 seconds to do. It really just piss me off and others too, but remixing it and doing a few little tweaks, changes here and there is fine. But like I said, when people drag and drop with one audio channel with a soundpack and do nothing; is like slap across the face and also underestimating the work and time we have to create to do a song. Using samples for a track is fine but with the whole soundpack in one channel is just disgraceful

@Eli Drum sounds are totally fine by me, I use them too. But if you just drag and drop loops to your song and then claiming it to be original, that's not right I think.

dropping them into the studio without some original twist on them, I say go for it and use whatever samples you want. There are also tons and tons of professionals who use royalty free loops/samples in their tracks, so what's the harm in using them?

@BJORNGERG, Antharzite, Xephyr, Boricua, SHUR1KEN: What's the point of samples and pre-made loops if you're just going to say they're unoriginal and not a good thing to use? Lots of professionals actually use samples, and lots of them create sample packs for fans/other composers to download! I have a Virtual Riot sample pack (where I get a fair amount of my drum sounds) and a Haywyre MIDI pack (which helps give me ideas for chord progressions and new chords to use). If you use pre-made loops like we have in the soundation pre library, it's totally fine. As long as you're not dragging and

@bourica, the fact that he was first and able to ride on a wave of popularity has nearly deserved him the title, along with that song being on of the first good songs on the website, even though there was little originality with it
