It was a good idea to use his snare. But I think we can still use the other snares bcuz this is not an Oozie type beat, it's an Oozie tribute. We're making this for him not to sound like him.
Ya Loe is right. Using imported sounds would kindof betray the style that Oozie has had for the longest time. It would sound out of place amongst his signature high passed pianos and "trotting" melodies.
The only problem I have with importing drums is that, they're always the most commonly used sounds, and that's kind of getting old. On a side note it would completely throw off the vibe of an oozie type beat. Not to be harsh but I'm getting sick of hearing the lex luger snare or that chiraq snare(I don't know what to call it) every song that has to do with imported drum samples.
I mean we could always fix the snare up to make it so it isn't too over baring in it's respective frequency. And I already gave it back to Loe mbad, I don't think either of us did to much that was extensive tho and even then, the song will have different sections that sound different so if one area is complete you can always progress another part.
can you send it to me before you send it to loe if you're done? i thought i was after phantom and loe already went. i wanna put my stuff in before my ideas or something gets taken. i feel like as the last one i cant contribute much stuff other then putting stuff on key, layering, mixing, and mastering. :/

so basically what i did was do some mixing, put stuff on key, and added some crashes, snares, and a kick pattern and bass.

and tbh the late night coffee snare is a little too high frequency for my liking. if we use it we should layer it with a clap or a harder snare
