Festival Madness (Winners Announced!)

I want to thank everyone for entering the festival madness contest 2015, it was a tough one to judge with a lot of very good entries! Congratulations to the grand prize winner Xephyr, and the community pick Backslash! You will be contacted shortly about your prizes. We shall see you all next year for another close contest!

GRAND PRIZE WINNER: XEPHYR (decided by judges – Calum Hood & Audial)

- Soundation Distribution for 1 year
- 1 item of your choice from the Sound Shop
- A collab with CalumHood (if wanted)
- Bragging rights!

COMMUNITY PICK: BACKSLASH (decided through voting)

- 1 item of your choice from the Sound Shop
- A collab with CalumHood (if wanted)

When judging the tracks, there will be 2 main scores – Production Quality (mixing/mastering/sound design) and Content (originality, structure, how appropriate it is to the theme).

The top 10 tracks that Audial and I judged have been left in the group, so if your track is there and you want to hear some feedback from us let me know!

Its bigroom dominated for a reason: More people like it than those who don't. That's just the way it is. @opc you cant just complain that your underrated purely because you aren't a top user. I'm not a top user, but I'm hardly underrated on here am I? And, just for the record, I've never won a contest, but I don't complain when I don't for one reason, those who beat me are obviously better than me. Maybe you should focus on making your own tracks better so you can win, instead of complaining about those who do win

Yeah there's definitely good songs on their (some of them should be on other charts) like the Andrei Stephen remix of Some Chords and Tiesto & KSHMR - Secrets

I like the top 100. It gives me a good understanding of what people look for in certain genres. sure, theres a lot of bigroom, but its not all bigroom.

@OPC Exactly. The Electro House top 100 should be renamed to Big Room House Top 100 and they should have another Electro chart because the current Electro House top 100 is filled with garbage songs.

Also, I don't get what Cosmic Candy was trying to say in his last reply. I already moved the discussion to PM, but I just think it's so irrelevant what he's saying. Don't take this the wrong way, but I see Moombahton as equal to Big Room House and Melbourne Bounce in terms of Electro House subgenre. It's honestly just slowing down a genre by 18 or so BPM and then adding an extra drum beat. How can it NOT be a subgenre of Electro House.

@Visualz Cosmic Candy has a point :L I don't think it matters where it comes from though, Moombahton is fine because it's often played at raves. Here's an example of it or something similar to it for those of you who don't know: https://soundcloud.com/datsik/datsik-barely-alive-the-blastaz-diskord-remix

I still do not know what I'm going to do... I mix Velocity and the festivalwip thing together.

@Cosmic Candy it still is a subgenre of Electro House since it's basically Dutch House slowed down with a few things added.

The name came from "Moombah" which was the Dutch House song and reggaeton which is what it sounded like, hence Moombahton.
