3- When Soundation first introduced featured tracks, which was a while before I joined, the team picked 5 songs to feature- three by users and two by staff- and left them up. They had been there for some time when I made my account, and stayed featured, completely unchanged, for about two years after that. This song was one of the original featured tracks that stayed on the Tracks landing page for 3-4 years. That's why this song has so many plays. For almost 5 years, you literally had to look at this track before you could find any other track on the whole website you didn't have the link for.
2- Back in 2012, Soundation was not a community-oriented site in the way that it is now. The same team members dealing with us users (Joakim, Andreas, Dator <3) were mostly responsible for developing the Soundation Studio, which at the time was still being built. A lot of the community features the site relies on today just didn't exist back then. There was no trending or top users list, groups were VERY different, and there were no followers or feeds. What we did have was featured tracks- well, sort of.
1- To those of you stumbling across this piece of Soundation history for the first time, welcome! A lot of you might be wondering, "why does this hella old song have so many plays? so many likes? how did this happen?" To understand that, you must understand that the Soundation you have now is VERY different from the Soundation I joined in 2012. Far fewer people were using it and completely different administrators were running it. This was like 5 or 6 years before the first chrome studio was released, and far before the chrome redesign everyone knows today.
