I intend to change that by helping those people get to grips with the basics, I will also be giving a few tips targeted at those who already have a good understanding and have to help really improve there musical depth, such as some really neat key changes (Key changes are barely used on soundation), chromaticism, blues notes, extended chords, countermelodies and many more, NEW!!!!: KRackEd EkHo had the idea of having a communal account so people can see the ideas of music theory for themselves as well as getting useful ideas. the user name is 'DusksMusicTheoryProgram@gmail.com' and the password is 'duskmusicuk' feel free to add new projects and test your ideas for others to see, I'll be putting a few things up for others to use and get ideas from. the only things you cannot do is delete projects, change the password or do anything on the community with this account, this account is purely for use in the studio. if anyone does otherwise the account will be shut down, so please obey by the rules. The Basics: there are 12 notes on the key board A, A-sharp/B-flat, B, C, C-sharp/D-flat, D, D-sharp/E-flat, E, F, F-sharp/G-flat, G, G-sharp/A-flat, check the link to see how these relate to the piano roll https://www.ehowtoplaypiano.com/piano-lessons/piano-notes-for-songs/ ...but you only use 7 at a time because there are only seven in each key, e.g. C,D,E,F,G,A,B,(C) an octave is C1 to C2 as C2 is the 8th note from C1 (as there are seven in the scale) The gap between to note directly adjacent to each other (e.g. B and C or D and D-sharp) is called a semitone, 2 semitones are called a tone (e.g. the gap between C and D is a tone, check the piano roll or link to see for yourself) Major Keys: the pattern of these tones and semitones for a major scale is T,T,S,T,T,T,S (e.g. C,D,E,F,G,A,B,(C) for C major or F,G,A,B-flat,C,D,E, for F major you simply pick a major key and to work out the scale for that key you use the pattern T,T,S,T,T,T,S to find all the notes. At Last is my very best track without any doubt, so I thought that I'd make a remix Comp for it, considering I've already have a couple people ask to remix it. hello everybody, i am overdoze. now, if you now a little bit of my back story, i had multiple suicide attemps plus exactly 3/4 of them where i did have to go to the hospital. i may be not the only one on Soundation that had theses obscure and horrible thoughts and/or actions. thats why I decided to make a contest. i want YOU guys to write a song about either Suicide or Experience or it. unfortunately, I don't think iAwake will grant me some good gift for the winners, so i'll try to directly contact you for more details if you win. suicide is not an option, nor a way to go. i hope that everybody will do their best for this contest. BIG NEWS! :) After a few years the time has finally come where the community along with it's users have evolved into the next big step in HISTORY! Ladies and gentleman I present to you the very first official record label to come out! The Music Geek Collective (WE ARE NOT IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH SOUNDATION OR POWERFX) YES A REAL RECORD LABEL! A legally copyrighted label where all artists have official contracts and get paid for their hard work! A label that gives all the artists a platform where they can finally live their dream of building a fanbase and getting their music distributed to a worldwide audience!! The artists on this label so far include... Xephyr Cyclosa Tom Bellinger Kracked Ekho Sam Pugh Foresight And of course BASS4ROG the founder himself. But that isn't all!... WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR MORE PEOPLE! :) We are looking for more talented artists and interns that are interested in working for the label! Drum and Bass Soundation contest Announcement! It may have been a long time since Soundation last ran a contest like this, but the entries were more impressive than ever! We were blown away by the quality of the submissions, and as a result it gave us some large thinking to do. However, we both agreed that a entry relatively late in the day was able to take the win in our view! Congratulations SLOCM3Z on taking the overall win! In our view, “The Thug” is a top tier track, and we couldn’t believe it when we heard it – meaning it is fully deserving of not only the top spot, but also to be featured for all to see! We felt that the sampling used was brilliant, alongside incredible sound design and typical drum and bass grit. You were able to push the studio so far during the production, and we hope the prize of Creator acount, and a 12 month pass for Europa will allow you to continue expanding and improving too! In a very close second, we have Aikue. “You Had Gone” is a brilliant example of liquid dnb of the type we would be used to hearing from some of the industries finest. Like with SLOCM3Z, you had just about the perfect sample for the track, and the instrumentation is not only perfectly used but also demonstrates the sort of sounds we all love to hear. We will all be able to listen more on the #Drum and Bass genre group, of which your track will be featured in, alongside the other prizes listed. In our final spot in the top 3, we have “Emails” by ENTERORRHAGIA. This harked back to some oldschool drum and bass which was a very cool throwback and almost perfectly done. The chopped drums and the punchy bass conspired to make this a super groovy pick for us, and was defo on repeat for some time.  However, we had to say the standards were sky high for this contest, and as the top 3 was such a hard list to pick, we have a number of honorable mentions we wished to shoutout too.  False + Unclassic - Bass N Drum - Great experimental textures, and unbelievably good sample used. Top notch sound design too.Sam the Giant – Godspeed – Lovely vibe, very smooth and creative, could have listened to this for hours. Great groove. B4S5RE4P3R - Crumb and Bass - Great atmospheric drum and bass, wubs and overall soundscape. Banger!Volk – Safe house – Echoy vibey song adding dubstep influence into the studio, reminding us of the father of the Wub machine... great tension building and swing. Theman17 – hyper – Phat sawstacks encompased this well produced arping groovebox of a song. Not heard any songs by this user before, but they are definatly one to keep an eye on for future!For everyone else, just because your song is not on this list does not mean we didn't really enjoy listening to it!
