I recommend straying away from the usage of loops, its nice, but you need to know some music theory (Song structure, chord progression, tempo, melodies) Also think about bass, melody/lead, pad/strings, drums, FX, genres, etc. . .Music theory is a pain to learn, but it really helps in making music. Practice makes perfect!
Negativity is the destruction of creativity. At least tell him a way that he could make it better. What is bad about it to you? It's not the best, but at least he tried. That's all that matters.

suggestion beat switches way to much way to different it sounds like a few songs same melody but different instruments a transition would be nice
