Ah... I see what you're saying. Well, there's always an infinite number of ways you can build off of a melody. I could of stayed closer to the original melody and tried to make it more like the first 40 or so seconds with a different layout of those same sounds for each measure. I don't know though, it's always a different experience for every track for the listener and the artist. I mean I could still build this same track an enormous number of ways from 40 seconds on out in the future. I usually just keep it moving though, so I can teach myself how to do stuff.
its not that its not repetitive or anything, its just my mind feels like it knows a part of the melody that hasn't played yet.. but it doesn't - I cant explain it well - only a few number of songs give me that feeling.
Might as well make it a little more interesting. I usually try to make it a little more interesting than just a straight predictable looped melody. Otherwise it would be super boring without main vocals imo. I mean I could just do a straight predictable melody, but I like to experiment with sounds and play around with stuff in the studio. It's supposed to be a little trippy and surreal. That's life. The harder you bust dance moves to this, the more likely you'll trip at some point, let's be real... :P
Specifically at that part that comes in at 0:44, but the entire time I feel like I know what's gonna come next in the melody but something completely different comes in
