Love the eerie atmosphere. If you're looking for opinions on where to go with it, I'd recommend adding some occasional horror-esque strings with heavy attack and reverb. You could add some extra atmosphere with low-passed echoey drums too, but I'd use them sparsely. Choir's also a good option for something dark and ominous, and I personally like the GM2's "ahh" and "synth" choirs.
