You know, depression is a hard battle to fight. I have had friends tell me that "Depression won't kill you unless you let it," and stuff along that line. But someone like me would be the one to say "Fuck you for that," and "I would be better off without you telling me anything,". It's just that for some people, along with me.
At the end of the day, people are going to say "Well, what gives him/her the right to feel depressed? Everybody has issues, but don't think about killing themselves over it." Well guess what? Depression doesn't give a fuck what you think. It's just there, and there to stay.
You see, it's not that people are lacking in belief, but that people just need others to see where they need help. Suicide is a thing because people feel like there is no point, that there is nobody there for them. I get your point about Jesus, but as you said, not everybody believes in that. People just want to have a solid figure, not of hope, but of care. They need confirmation that they are human, that they exist as a figure that matters to someone, anyone.
