(3/4) Feedback on "Phases"

• After a short break, everything repeats at 1.05 again. If you want to keep the same structure as before I strongly recommend new elements. A pad or some vocals would do the trick.

• At 1.33, stuff starts to happen which is all good but perhaps a bit messy compared to the introduction. Try to analyze and copy the arrangement of established tracks in the genre. It helps a lot when it comes to building a musical tension.

(4/4) Feedback on "Phases"

• All in all, I’d say that this is a great foundation to build on, but far from a finished track. Put more time into the variations and don’t be afraid to experiment. Looking forward to listening to your finished work Katze!

This week's review goes to "Lucky Stars" - a sweet, emotive ballad by HIROYO that has potential to grow into a full sonic journey. See my feedback below on how to make your track engaging from beginning to end!

(1/4) Feedback on HIROYO's "Lucky Stars"

• Nice and emotive theme. I love that it starts with just a single element. The percussion that blends in at 0.10 is a perfect choice and tells a lot about you as a producer.

• It’s cool that you use a vocal sample but in order to make it even more interesting, I’d work on the first Lucky Star sample (Alan Watts, right?). Crunch it, fast pan it, distort it and delay it. Right now it sounds a bit flat. I know you can make something cool with it.

(2/4) Feedback on HIROYO's "Lucky Stars"

• The beat that kicks in at 0.22 works great with the rest of the composition and the mixing is more or less perfect.

• At 0.56 you continue with the exact same structure as before which makes the track predictable. Small adjustments and add-ons would change that. Perhaps add a bassline with a sweet groove, and differ the hi-hat rhythm for example.

(3/4) Feedback on HIROYO's "Lucky Stars"

• When we reach 1.17 I’d expect a new turn. Something completely new in order to catch the listeners' attention. I strongly suggest you look into that here, otherwise you lose more than half of the crowd instantly.

• At 1.41 I would like to hear the theme but with the full ”orchestra” effect. Try adding pads, strings, a new beat, cello, a bassline and what not. Don't be afraid to experiment.

(4/4) Feedback on HIROYO's "Lucky Stars"

• For the closing, be patient and treat every second of the track as a unique second. So, if you go for a 2 minute track, make it alive all through the track. Don’t give up and repeat stuff.

• All in all a really pro production sound-wise, really. But work on the arrangement and remember to fill the whole frequency spectrum. Nice job!
