Wanting to see how surprised you’d be
I reached for your hand on a whim
Your hands more delicate than I thought they’d be
I’m slightly at a loss
I’ve come prepared
With plenty of lines to say to you
But somehow, the words just won’t come out
Instead, I just watch the quiet waves of the sea
(Perfect) I don’t make mistakes
(Perfect) And do everything cleverly
But somehow, it’s hard to act like nothing’s happened
This shouldn’t even be a problem for me
My summer’s dilemma has taken off
I wonder where these feelings of mine are headed
“Of course I succeeded, this was easy,” I say through my tears
The hands of time within me begin to turn
Leaving and returning just as the shoreline does
I’ll succeed time and time again
I’ll succeed in front of you
It’s me, after all
