COGNITION Remix Competition

Hey! Thanks for getting my song to trending! How about a remix competition, eh? Let's do it! So, here are the rules: You are allowed to use any DAW you choose, but if you use Soundation, I will add an extra point to your score. You are limited to a single track! You can collaborate with 1 other person. The deadline is March 10th. (It may be extended if there is more time needed and/or for personal reasons.) That's literally all there is to it. There's a discord server if anyone wants to submit their track through both systems, and I'll think about and announce the prizes on the 10th of February. Happy remixing! PRIZES: 1st place: Collaborate with me on up to 3 tracks, a repost on SoundCloud, a link to your remix in the description of COGNITION, the link to your profile in my bio, and my username on any gaming platform you would like and we can become epic gamers (optional). 2nd place: Collaborate with me on 1 track, a repost on SoundCloud, a link to your remix in the description of COGNITION, and your profile link in my bio. 3rd place: A repost on SoundCloud, a link to your remix in the description of COGNITION, and your profile link in my bio. I know this is barely anything, but I didn't feel like doing a cash giveaway. Everyone who participates, however, can get a follow (if I'm not already following you, but that's highly unlikely) HERE ARE THE WINNERS WOOHOO!! 5th place: Lettasu. Amazing sound design and some pretty cool sounding drums. 10 points overall. 4th place: Napo. Really clean saws and again, some nice drums. 11 points overall. 3RD PLACE: False. VERY nice drums and crisp bass. 12 points overall. 2ND PLACE: Hyphen. No explanation needed. Totally clean and errorless. 13 points overall. And finally, our winner: Missiony. The progressive house take you had on this song blew my mind. The buildup is fantastic. Those plucks in the drop are so clean. 14 points overall. Let's not forget the other competitors! Vii: your remix had its own sort of house style to it. It put you in 6th place with 8 points. WWYR2M: great sound design, but the phaser on some stuff was tripping me a little. 7th place with 7 points. B4S5RE4P3R and Amber: you both had unique remixes that definitely stood out within the crowd. You tied with 5 points, landing you both in 8th place for the competition. It has been for a while now, and by that i mean several years.. and perhaps more to come, that's why i'm not putting any specific numbers. There's a chance I might log in to simply jog my memories on the more simpler days as a child, (saying this due to the fact i'm practically an adult by now and this was created nearly 6, perhaps 7 years ago..) so i guess you could continue posting if you want. Drum and Bass Soundation contest Announcement! It may have been a long time since Soundation last ran a contest like this, but the entries were more impressive than ever! We were blown away by the quality of the submissions, and as a result it gave us some large thinking to do. However, we both agreed that a entry relatively late in the day was able to take the win in our view! Congratulations SLOCM3Z on taking the overall win! In our view, โ€œThe Thugโ€ is a top tier track, and we couldnโ€™t believe it when we heard it โ€“ meaning it is fully deserving of not only the top spot, but also to be featured for all to see! We felt that the sampling used was brilliant, alongside incredible sound design and typical drum and bass grit. You were able to push the studio so far during the production, and we hope the prize of Creator acount, and a 12 month pass for Europa will allow you to continue expanding and improving too! In a very close second, we have Aikue. โ€œYou Had Goneโ€ is a brilliant example of liquid dnb of the type we would be used to hearing from some of the industries finest. Like with SLOCM3Z, you had just about the perfect sample for the track, and the instrumentation is not only perfectly used but also demonstrates the sort of sounds we all love to hear. We will all be able to listen more on the #Drum and Bass genre group, of which your track will be featured in, alongside the other prizes listed. In our final spot in the top 3, we have โ€œEmailsโ€ by ENTERORRHAGIA. This harked back to some oldschool drum and bass which was a very cool throwback and almost perfectly done. The chopped drums and the punchy bass conspired to make this a super groovy pick for us, and was defo on repeat for some time.  However, we had to say the standards were sky high for this contest, and as the top 3 was such a hard list to pick, we have a number of honorable mentions we wished to shoutout too.  False + Unclassic - Bass N Drum - Great experimental textures, and unbelievably good sample used. Top notch sound design too.Sam the Giant โ€“ Godspeed โ€“ Lovely vibe, very smooth and creative, could have listened to this for hours. Great groove. B4S5RE4P3R - Crumb and Bass - Great atmospheric drum and bass, wubs and overall soundscape. Banger!Volk โ€“ Safe house โ€“ Echoy vibey song adding dubstep influence into the studio, reminding us of the father of the Wub machine... great tension building and swing. Theman17 โ€“ hyper โ€“ Phat sawstacks encompased this well produced arping groovebox of a song. Not heard any songs by this user before, but they are definatly one to keep an eye on for future!For everyone else, just because your song is not on this list does not mean we didn't really enjoy listening to it! We're a small, relatively active group of music producers. Some of us are veterans, with experience in the field, while some are but beginners. I appreciate you looking at our page! I'm still new to the whole group administrator thing, but I'm learning with time. I'm very surprised at how fast we've grown! I know it's only a little more than ten, but that's still around one a day. You see so many groups die immediately. This is already more than I had anticipated, and I thank everyone for that! Anyways, uhm, group goal and things. In my opinion, I think we should just do whatever! The feedback I've received from the members here has driven my motivation, and inspiration, through the roof! I think that if you like making, listening to, or talking about music, you should join! I haven't had a problem with any rude, discourteous people yet, and I don't think I will anytime soon. Now, I don't think we're even close to the point of hosting contests and things, so I'll leave that for another time. I will change my featured tracks whenever the time feels right to change them, usually that's when someone posts an awesome track. I will never have more than one of my own tracks featured at once, as it feels selfish and rude to all of the others that have made music deserving of the position as well! Although, I would prefer it be made without library samples. -NEW- ~Be on the Look-Out List~ I sort of stole this idea from BASS4ROG, but, there are a few people in my group with no where near the amount of exposure they deserve. He has around twenty tracks, and most of them are either really amazing, or have a lot of potential.
