Getting comfortable with the notes and how to use them is key, no pun intended. Then, start foolin' around with the instruments and see what you can do. Always ask for input and advise as well, that's why soundation is public. And lastly, plagiarize. Well, sort of. Listen to what other people are making, and try to copy it and learn from them.
