Honestly I just opened a metronome app and intensely stared at it as I played back the track and adjusting the metronome tempo until it seemed to fit. I'd let both the track and metronome play and see which one gets ahead/falls behind. If the track you gave was significantly longer, I would be able to be more certain about it because there would be more time for them to desync (which was why I had a hard time exactly pinpointing 173, 174, or 175 on the fast tempo approach)

I used the tap along part of the app to get started, but the numbers do change up a bit, so then I manually incremented and decremented from there.

use an online bpm finder. tap along to the sample on the space bar and it will calculate the bpm for you.
