Well, I guess it just depends on the situation. There are definitely people who would mind if their song was sampled and not credited but if you don't or other people don't, it's fine, but it's definitely something people should think about doing whether or not the source is copyrighted imo, but it is just my opinion so yeah ;p
It seems like if you and puddles took a sample and made the same song with it that neither of you really did much to the sample to change it, so how am I to assume that this situation is any different from stealing a persons work entirely? Also there are people who link samples they use like willzbeez, here's a song where he did just that https://soundation.com/user/Willbe244/track/alone
That's the risk of using loops. I don't think they are forbidden, but others likely have accessibility to the same loops, so other original elements should be utilized to accompany and stand out, whether it be how you manipulate those loops, adding MIDIs, or adding recordings.
but like no one else ever does that it does not matter what your take on it is in my opinion its all about if its good or not. now one thing is to use a sample and its a totally different thing to just copy and paste a whole song from someone else. people can make there own music from other songs a great example of this is biskwiq. all he does is sample songs and then remixes them but they are still his songs and i see absolutely no one talking about that. you have your own belief but mine is that music is what you make it if you use samples or not its still your creation.
There are so many grammar errors in my statement thanks to autocorrect that I don't know if made any sense! But my big point is you should link the original sample so we can compare your take on the song to the sample.
I still think you should make an available to the sample, because even if it's copyrighted or anything, in my book, using a sample that much without referencing it is plagiarism. Puddles has the same problem sometimes, too, but I guess if it's legal it doesn't matter
this same thing happened like 7 months ago when i used a sample and it was also a lil peep song so people where like SUPER mad at me. and to quote the great tenebris "I mean.. If it sounds good, then who cares.I think sometimes people forget that music is a form of art and the expression of an idea. And remembering that, is what is truly important."
so yea.... i rest my case lol

I heard my track sampled and I liked what they done with it. If you put it out there you can expect it. Credit would be nice. Not mandatory.
