Yes! You can have all the different drums in the beginning, part of summer dance is deep house and the drums typically sound somewhat like that :P Even if you don't make this deep house you can still keep the drums
I don't listen to much dance, but sounds like you are nearly there. The melody sounds a tad remorseful though? Also, you want no trippy beats, with just a straight drumkit, but sounds like you are nearly onto another very good song.
