to build on inhale's feedback, maybe just try making your original melody a bit spicier with diff notes/arrangements, and then apply effects, compressor eq etc to give it a bit of a fuller sound. When it comes to your mix, you could add some higher frequencies or octave up the melody to give yourself some more room for the bass, the drums are great. The choir and the melody seem to be in the same octave, and sometimes, changing the octave of melodics in your mix can really open up mix space to sound louder and clearer.
The kick pattern is great and bouncy. I like it in general, however, maybe make the cowbell/ or bell song that starts the melody a little less repetitive. I say take all the drums off and remake them, make them more simple and I think you'll find something that you like. More bass to.
I agree with Inhale that the melody sounds a little empty at times, I would add another layer to it, even if it was just another instrument playing the same notes. The mixing is fine, no issues there.
It's like a filter that you put on each instrument and the master along with limiters to make it sound cleaner and louder. I'm having a tough time figuring it all out!
