Laaaashgoooo! πŸ₯‡ 1st: "Merry" by Aikue "...so, I go to College, and at College we had a competition to make a Christmas song, so I came up with some chords but it was on logic, so I went home and just worked on that track all night on Soundation." πŸ₯ˆ 2nd: "Collapse" by ACAER (Due to reasons I was not able to file a mini-interview with him) But I really loved the intro as well as the main lead, and also capturing that Christmas vibe! (:πŸ₯‰ 3rd: "snow. VIP" by Shards "I remember creating Snow after formulating a nice chord progression, and the lack of Christmas competition didn't stop me from finishing the track then. I made snow vip mainly for one reason: the kick was too loud. Apart from that, I took the basic structure of snow and altered it, creating a more faster and powerful drop using fakies as well as a different drum beat." 8th Place: "Snowdrift" (by ViciousV53) A show-stopper infused with smooooth dreamy synths as well as some choppy house beats and awesome melodies that just screamed Christmas. So well done VV53. 7th Place: "Vibing with a snowman" (by rvmor & little hollow) Such a beautiful little piece from soundation's most beloved ambient producer and his pal rvmor - effortlessly combining little hollow's signature ambient formula with some chilly lo-fi beats, as well as a great choice of chords, this song has Christmas written all over, good job fellas! 6th Place: "A forgotten land of Ice and Snow" (by Galaxian) Something a little more unusual that just works so well! Recently known for his top 3 finalist remix of Jacknife Lee's "Hit the Bell", Galaxian comes back with another Drum n Bass hit with a subtle kick of Christmas vibe! Great Job! 5th Place: "Have yourself a Merry Christmas (Lofi Remix)" (by Hex) Typically known for his melodic trap beats, Hex takes a different approach to this contest with a lo-fi spin with delicate chromatic percussions and a frick ton of sidechain! Awesome stuff Hex! <3 4th Place: "Carol of the Bells (Remix)" (by Moon & XWolf) Awesome stuff guys, love all the sound effects and the fearsome drops, another unusual spin on a Christmas song! GRAWT!PS - Tips & Techniques

My name is GRAWL!X, and this is the amalgamation of my 6+ years of Soundation experience. Back when I was a new musician, one of the groups I frequented was called "Andreas' Tips n' Tricks". It was a special little group where users would submit new techniques they found and share it with the entire community. Today I aim to create a group with the same general concept. _________________________________________________ Over the next several months, I will post my own techniques and sounds on here with examples explaining exactly how to do them. My hope is that people can use my trademark sounds in their own way and make tons of new music. I'll do my best to make sure that these sounds are possible with or without a paid account, but there will be exceptions. ________________________________________________ GRAWT!PS #1 - The Fretless Pad (1) Open the GM-2 (2) Select 'Fretless Bass' under the 'Bass' Tab (3) Turn the Attack knob up to around 300 ms (4) Add a reverb with around 90% size, 100% wet and 0% dry (this part is optional, this just makes the sound much smoother). (5) Add an Equalizer with 60% on Lows and Highs and 50% on the Mids. (6) Enjoy! ____________________________________________ GRAWT!PS #2 - The GRAWL!X Pluck (1) Open the GM-2 and select the Sine Wave under the Synth Lead category. (2) Turn the Sustain knob down to 21%, and the Release knob down to 80ms. (3) Copy the effects in this image in the order they are numbered. These effects exist for the purpose of the reverby feel -- they are not required to making the plucky sound. (4) Enjoy! GRAWT!IPS #3 - The Lo-fi Piano (1) Open the GM-2 and select the Rhodes Piano under the Piano section. (2) The only 2 necessary effects needed for this sound are the Degrader and the Delay. (3) Set the Gain on the Degrader to 5%, the Rate to 11%, the Reduction to 0% and the Mix to 12%. (4) Set the Time Left and Time Right on the Delay to 5ms and 9ms respectively. Turn Feedback and Filter to 10%, and Wet to 100%. Leave dry untouched. (5) The example provided has extra effects to further exaggerate this sound. To perfectly replicate the sound of the example please copy the effects of this image. (6) Enjoy!

Thanks to all participants of this Coastline Remix Competition! Your support and efforts are very much appreciated! Congratulations to the winners! πŸ₯‰ =3rd Place: Aephyr & HEX's remix - I could not choose an absolute 3rd place unfortunately, but I like how both were tailored to a more trap style whilst maintaining the tropical vibes we all love, so well done gentlemen. πŸ₯ˆ 2nd Place: Moist's Remix - I like how Moist touched on the more chill aspect of the original and built it into his very own lo-fi spice! I also particularly placed this remix at 2nd because of the art cover - a truly magnificent masterpiece! :) πŸ₯‡ 1st Place: Nate's Remix? πŸ€”πŸ€” Now now everyone, no need to act so surprised. Nate's remix is unarguably the best remix (and might I add), one of my favourite dubstep tracks across the entire community! His remix basically sums up S.A.U.C.E and more! My favourite element of this song was the sound design and the chord progression! But to be fairly honest, I cannot fault it in anyway, so well done Nate :) Special Mention: Sonaris' Remix Although this song was not intended for the comp, I still think it deserves the credit, and would've been a decent competitor in the running. Winners should expect their prizes to come through in this coming week, but once again, thank you to everyone for your support and your efforts!
