New Pricing Plans

Important information about our new pricing model.

Every so often we revisit our different account plans, and see if there are changes we could make that would give our users as much value as possible from Soundation.

Over the years, you’ve made it clear that the feature-based pricing can feel like a barrier to your growth as a music creator. For this reason, Soundation’s pricing model has transitioned from a feature-based to a storage-based model. The new plans give access to all standard features.

With our new Starter, Creator and Pro plans, you can pay flat rates based on your number of projects and grow as you go. The new price plans went into effect on September 1, 2021. Read the full announcement here.

Our new plans are Starter, Creator, and Pro. Each subscription gives you access to all features included on the Free plan, as well as more projects, bigger storage and larger sound library.

We’ve lifted limitations on all standard features. This table allows you to see the difference between the new Free plan and the old Free plan.

As a current Intro Yearly user, you can continue using the features of the Intro plan until your next billing date.

When your subscription is up for renewal after September 1, 2021, you’ll be moved to the Starter plan at the price of Intro ($23.88). The new price ($59.88) will become effective on your second year of Starter.

This tables allow you to see the difference between the Starter plan and the Intro plan.

When your subscription is up for renewal after September 1, 2021, you’ll be moved to the Creator plan at the price of Power ($59.88). The new price ($119.88) will become effective on your second year of Creator.

Users on a Power Monthly plan: You can continue using the features of the Power plan until your next billing date. When your subscription is up for renewal after September 1, 2021, you’ll be moved to the Creator plan at the price of Power ($5.99). You’ll get this special price for six renewals. Definitely. Whether you’re currently on a free, Intro, Power or Premium plan, you can switch to any of the new plans right away by upgrading on the pricing page.

Otherwise, if you’re currently on any paid plan, you’ll be transferred automatically to an equivalent plan when your subscription is up for renewal.

Free users: Upon opening solo projects, they’ll be automatically converted to collab projects. You’ll be able to access them forever.

Note that if you have more than 3 collab projects – which is the maximum number of projects allowed in the new free plan, you won’t be able to create more projects. To create more projects, please upgrade to a higher plan.

Intro, Power, Premium users: Your solo projects will remain unchanged. You’ll be able to access them forever. You’ll also be able to create new solo projects as long as you remain on Intro, Power or Premium. If you’d like to change solo projects into collab projects, learn how to convert them manually here.

When you’re transferred to any of the new plans (Starter, Creator, Pro), you’ll no longer be able to create new solo projects since all projects are collab by default. You’ll of course still have access to solo projects created before the transfer. However, if you’re downgraded to free, your solo projects will be automatically converted to collab projects.

Note that no one will have access to your collabs until you invite people to the projects.

You’ll still have access to all your old collab projects and can continue working on them forever. However, you won’t be able to create new collab projects until the number of projects is below the new limit (3 for Free users. 10 for Starter users).

If you wish to create more collab projects, please upgrade to a higher plan to unlock more projects.

We’ve changed our “Give a free month, get a free month” referral program to “Give $10, get $10” reward program.

Each unused prize you’ve gained before the change is transferred to $10 Soundation credits. For example, if you have 3 unused months, after September 1, 2021, you should have $30 credits to use.

Your reward will be automatically deducted on the start of your next billing period.

When a friend signs up for Soundation using your personal link, they’ll get $10 of credits to use on their first purchase.

For every friend you invite to Soundation who subscribes and starts paying, we’ll give you $10 credits.
