Soundation, Sony Music and Diskopunk announce Remix Challenge with an official release in the prize pot

With the long-term goal of supporting emerging talent around the globe, Soundation is joining forces with Sony Music and Diskopunk for a Remix Challenge of the Swedish quartet’s “Sugar.” The grand prize includes an official remix with Sony Music and Diskopunk.

The Remix Challenge is simply about producing the best remix taking the soul of the original track, flipping it and making it shine in a new light. The winning producer scores an official release of the remix together with Diskopunk and Sony Music, a feedback session with Diskopunk and a year of free Soundation Premium. The submission deadline is March 6, 2019.

“Soundation’s mission is to democratize music production by making it possible for anyone to become a music producer, and this challenge is a great opportunity for new producers to level up and connect with the industry. We’re very happy for Sony Music’s support and excited to let our users experiment with Sugar,’” says Adam Hasslert, CEO of Soundation.

“Sugar” is part of Diskopunk’s debut EP, Soaked. Describing their sound as “a decadent ABBA with grandiose, chord-driven pop songs beefed up with post-punk parts, raging distorted synthesizers, guitar riffs and a hell of a lot of percussion,” the group merges polished disco esthetics with the dark and dirty underground.
