Use Simple Synth
Simple Synth is a bare-bones polyphonic synthesizer featuring four selectable oscillators + a noise oscillator along with two envelopes and a cutoff filter. It includes a variety of premade presets to choose from to quickly find some interesting sounds.
The Four Oscillators
All of the Simple Synth oscillators offer the same adjustable features.
Waveform: The drop down menu under each oscillator name lets you select the oscillator waveform. You can switch each of them between Saw, Square, Sine and Triangle waves.
Volume: Use this knob to adjust the individual volume of each oscillator.
Pitch: Use this knob to adjust the pitch of each oscillator in a range of -24 to +24 semitones.
Detune: Use this knob to fine tune or detune the oscillators against each other to create more complex tones. You can adjust Detune in a range of -100 to +100 cents.
The white noise oscillator can be used to add some extra texture, hiss or dirt to your synth sound.
Volume: Use to set the loudness of the white noise.
Color: Use to set the character of the white noise from a darker to a brighter noise type.
The Amp or Amplitude Envelope controls the shape and movement of your synth sound. You use this to create anything from a quick plucky sound to long growing pad sound.
Attack: Set the amount of time it takes for the note to reach maximum level.
Decay: Set the amount of time it takes for the note to move from maximum level to the sustain level.
Sustain: Set the maximum level (loudness) of the note while it is held.
Release: Set the amount of time it takes for the note to drop to silence after the Sustain level.
The Filter Envelope works in relation to the Filter section. The settings are similar to that of the Amp Envelope but are dependent of the Filter Cutoff position. The Filter Envelope lets you further shape your sound and is great to create more movement and interesting tones.
Attack: Set the amount of time it takes for the Filter to reach maximum level.
Decay: Set the amount of time it takes for the Filter to move from maximum level to the sustain level.
Sustain: Set the maximum level (loudness) of the Filter while a note is held.
Release: Set the amount of time it takes for the Filter to drop to silence after the Sustain level.
Intensity: Set how much the Filter Envelope effects the Filter settings. A zero value means the envelope has no effect.
The Filter in Simple Synth is a High Cut filter which means it starts cutting the high frequencies and moves down the frequency spectrum.
Cutoff: Use to set the cutoff position of the Filter and where it should start cutting away frequencies.
Resonance: Set the amount of resonance (the “ringing”) of the Filter at the cutoff position
